SEMIAHMOO
Turn ideas into working prototypes. Explore electrical, mechanical, and biomedical engineering through interactive lessons and hands-on projects at Semiahmoo Secondary School.
Semiahmoo Engineering Club is a community for students who love constructing, experimenting, and understanding how the world works. Whether you’re considering a future in STEM or simply enjoy making things, this is a place to connect and put your curiosity into practice.
We follow the engineering design process: identify a need, brainstorm, develop, test, and improve. Along the way, members practice safety, teamwork, and ethics while building skills in leadership, creative and critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.
Our goal goes beyond learning formulas and concepts. We want students to experience the interactive, creative, and complex beauty of engineering by delivering solutions together.
Explore electronics, microcontrollers, and hands-on projects, including an RP2040 digital stopwatch.
Discover forces, mechanisms, CAD, and 3D printing. Design a custom keychain while learning to sketch, extrude, and emboss text.
Explore the connections between human biology and engineering through sensors, assistive technology, and biomedical devices.
Proposed activities include UBC Geering Up workshops, the UNBC High School Design Competition, and friendly in-school design competitions.
